There is an increasing need to educate legislators about homeowner association living, property values and self-governance! Dozens of brand new legislators are now in office, one third of the entire Legislature!  Failure to properly educate them will result in new bills and laws which inadvertently harm our Community Associations and their members. Often these new laws spring from single, anecdotal stories that do not accurately depict the normal or average homeowner association.  CAI-CLAC needs to correct these impressions, positively and proactively portray the CID lifestyle, and help our elected officials become knowledgeable and supportive of community living for more than nine million Californians.   Said another way, CAI-CLAC needs to educate the lawmakers. Because CAI-CLAC is a respected, proactive, and effective spokesgroup, it is strategically positioned to educate legislators; indeed, the opportunity to exert our influence may never be better as the new legislators want information about community association living.   The question is, how can this effort be funded? The answer is... inexpensively, lawfully, and easily by contributing at least one dollar ($1.00) per unit door...
